Mapping Cartographies of Networks

University of Minnesota Design Institute recently released the long time awaited Else/Where: Mapping — New Cartographies of Networks and Territories, a compilation of essays and works from writers, artists and designers “at the forefront of the locative media practice” I’ve got my copy at Nijhof & Lee in Amsterdam and at it promises to be an inspiring reading for this project:
“How do metaphors from the mapping physical space apply to the mapping of virtual space? As new navigation technologies transform our perceptions of urban and global landscape, and topology trumps geography as the measure of social proximity, we find ourselves searching for new ways to define our place in the world”
